Each year Brush Bowls Club holds the following internal competitions:

• Men’s Championship
• Ladies Championship
• Maiden Singles – George  Y. Elder Cup
• Handicap Singles
• 2 Wood Singles
• 4 Wood Pairs
• 2 Wood Pairs

Bowling members are encouraged to enter as many competitions as possible.  Although there can be only one winner and half of the entrants are knocked out at each round, the competitions are more exciting with more entrants and, who knows, on the day there may be some upsets that see better players beaten by an “underdog”.

2 Wood Pairs & 4 Wood Pairs : Pairings are organised at semi-random.  The Competition Secretary creates a list of 50% of the entrants who he considers are more experienced bowlers and then these are drawn out of a hat with one of the remaining 50% of bowlers – the objective is to pair a more experienced bowler with a newer, less experienced bowler.

In each competition, the matches are drawn at random.
